No CommentsBooking a Wedding Venue What’s important to you when booking a wedding venue? Is it the cost? Is the setting? The grounds for the Photographer? Is it the size of the venue? or does consideration include how big the venue is for your evening entertainment? Cost of your Wedding Venue I’m sure this is a big part of any couples big day and it seems now that Multi-Purpose venues are becoming more and more popular eg. Ceremony Venue, Photographic grounds, Accommodation for overnight guests and Reception venue for that all important Evening Wedding Reception. Many people are opting for converted barns etc. a key point about these venues is for your guests and entertainment for example – Is the bar situated within the reception room itself or if it’s not in the room will it detract from the DJ you have booked for you Evening Reception?? The Grounds The all Important Wedding snaps for your Photo Album is something that involves you both as well as important advice from your photographer. Ideally within the grounds of the Wedding Reception suits everyone as it saves breaking off your big day to travel to a separate location for snaps while your guests mill around waiting for your big arrival perhaps up to 1 ½ hours later depending on the location. Also less stress with trying to make sure everyone you need for photos gets to the right place on time. Size of the Venue A kind of obvious one but a larger venue needs a guest list to match and there is nothing worse from my experience of the years seeing a smaller venue struggling to fit anymore chairs in the room. Generally though Hotel/ Wedding Venues are superb at getting the size of room right for the amount of guests you have invited including your evening invites. Space for your Entertainment This in my opinion is a very important part as I have played many venues with the band and after DJ sitting on top of each other in a tight space. The other thing you don’t want to restrict is the dancefloor space for your guests to enjoy. Your priority is to have a good clear dancefloor for that all important first dance etc. Also room is important for you Videographer/Photographer to move around and get good shots. All the above are just points that are well worth considering in my opinion. -
